Key Responsibilities:
- Assess individual student needs and tailor tutoring sessions accordingly
- Develop engaging tutoring plans that align with curriculum standards
- Utilize learning technology to enhance the educational experience
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environmentMonitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
- Collaborate with parents and educators to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and feedback, which may include monthly written reports
- Communicate and collaborate with the After School Program Supervisor to ensure awareness of tutoring progress
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in middle school subject areas
- Strong understanding of lesson planning and curriculum development
- Familiarity with learning technologies to facilitate effective teaching
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, volunteers, and staff
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles
- Commitment to The Living Well’s mission and values.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Experience working with students of various ages is preferred
- Knowledge of adult education principles is a plus
Professional Expectations:
The Tutor will present a competent and positive image of The Living Well Mission through the professional and safe coordination of all after school programming, quantified by completion of the key areas of responsibility and continuous improvement of the program and systems.
Additionally, the Tutor will exhibit and represent behaviors consistent with The Living Well Mission’s competency guidelines listed.
The first 90 days of employment are considered a trial period at which time performance will be evaluated by the Executive Director.
Compensation:
This is a grant funded position and will be reviewed each year.
Salary: $25/hr
Hours: 10 hours/week for 30 weeks during the school year. Must be available until 5pm on weekdays
